This loco moco burger recipe is simply amazing! Simple recipe but packs a lot of flavor. The rice, seasoned burger, homemade gravy, and that fried egg really is really something special. I hope you try this and let me know how you like it!
Ingredients
1 large Egg
3 oz burger patty
1 cup rice
2 cups Water for the rice water/beef stock
1 Tbs flour
1 Tbs butter
1 /4 cup heavy whipping cream
Directions
Step 1
1 Turn half the griddle to high heat and the other half to low heat or off. Put small pan on high heat side and melt butter. Add flour and cook several minutes to make a roux. Gradually add the beef stock while whisking until incorporated. (if using water, add two heaping tablespoons of beef powder to the water). Stir in cream and mix well. Move the gravy to the low side of the griddle and let simmer.
Step 2
2 Make rice in a rice cooker or pot on stove. Meanwhile, make a 3-4 oz ball out of the hamburger. Season the bottom with your favorite seasoning and smash on the griddle holding down for 10-12 seconds to sear the meat. Season the top of the burger, After a minute or so, flip burger. When almost done, put egg on cool side of griddle and season with salt and pepper. Let cook till cooked through without flipping.
Step 3
3 To assemble, Add rice to a bowl or plate. Add smash burger next. Then add gravy and then the sunny side up egg.
