Breakfast Bowl

Pile everything good about breakfast into one bowl and call it a day, y’all. Today we’re building a loaded Blackstone Breakfast Bowl with crispy tater crowns, bacon, sausage, drippy eggs, melty cheddar cheese, and homemade griddle gravy all stacked together into one bite of breakfast goodness. Along the way I’m sharing griddle tips, cooking order tricks, gravy hacks, and a few Breakfast Bowl life lessons. Throw a little hot sauce on top and daggone it… that’s some good groceries.



Ingredients (US + Metric)

• 1 lb (454g) breakfast sausage

• 8 slices bacon

• 24 oz (680g) tater crowns or shredded hash browns

• 2–3 tbsp (30–45mL) avocado oil

• 1/2 lb (227g) cheddar cheese, shredded

• 4 large eggs

• 2 green onions, sliced

• Chicken Dust or seasoned salt, to taste

• Hot sauce (optional)•

• Southern White Gravy

• 2 tbsp (30mL) bacon or sausage grease

• 2 tbsp (16g) all-purpose flour

• 1–1½ cups (240–360mL) milk or half-and-half

• Chicken Dust and pepper to taste

Instructions

1. Preheat your Blackstone griddle for 5–10 minutes on medium heat.

2. Add avocado oil and cook tater crowns/hash browns until golden and crispy. Move to cooler side when finished.

3. Cook bacon until crispy, then move aside and chop into bite-size pieces.

4. Cook sausage and break into crumbles while browning for additional flavor.

5. Make gravy by combining grease and flour, stirring for about 1 minute. Slowly whisk in milk or half-and-half until thickened. Season to taste.

6. Cook eggs in a little bacon grease until whites are set and yolks remain runny.

7. Build bowls by layering potatoes, sausage, bacon, cheese, gravy, eggs, and green onions.

8. Finish with Chicken Dust and hot sauce if desired.

Hungry Hussey Tip

Want to take this thing over the top? Throw in some grits and hit it with Tabasco Chipotle. That's some good groceries.
