We made Chick-fil-A sandwich in their parking lot and asked a complete stranger their opinion on who's sandwich is better!
Ingredients
Pimento Cheese Spread:
2 packages (8oz) sharp cheddar cheese, 1 yellow, 1 white
1 block (8oz) cream cheese, softened
½ jar diced pimentos
½ cup mayonnaise
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp onion powder
Chicken Brine:
2 chicken breasts cut in half
2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
2 cups Buttermilk
peanut oil for frying, or as needed
Putting together:
2 cups Atkinson's chicken breader
4 hamburger buns
4 tsp honey
16 slices pickled jalapeno
Tools Required
griddle
cast iron skillet
dredging plates
Directions
Step 1
1. Mix all the pimento cheese ingredients together and mix well and set aside.
Step 2
2. Cut chicken breasts in half and put in a bowl or container with lid. Mix in brine ingredients and let sit 1 hour up to 6 hours.
Step 3
3. Heat griddle up to high. Put a cast iron pan big enough to fry 4 pieces of chicken and add oil. Heat to 375 degrees.
Step 4
4. Put chicken breader in a shallow dish. Take chicken out of brine and put in breader dish and coat well. Put in a seperate dish to let sit 10 to 15 minutes. If needed cook in batches. Fry for 3-4 minutes per side. When cooked, put on paper towels to soak up the extra oil.
Step 5
5. Add some butter to griddle and put down the buns to toast. Once toasted, start to build. Start by putting honey on both top and bottom bun. Next put jalapeno on bottom bun followed by a piece of chicken. Next put a spoonful of pimento cheese and some more honey. Add mayo to top bun if desired. Put top bun on and enjoy.
