Stuffed French Bread

This is a great appetizer or even a dinner idea that includes melty, gooey cheese and Italian sausage


1 loaf Italian Bread

1 ½ lbs Italian sausage

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup of marinara sauce (I used Rao's)


Step 1

Preheat griddle to low or 350. Cut bread lengthwise in half. Hollow out the bread making a boat.

Step 2

Fill the bread with very generous amounts of cheese. Top with about 3/4 lb of sausage and spread out to cover cheese.

2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1 ½ lbs Italian sausage

Step 3

Lay down some oil and put bread on, sausage side down for approximately 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook another 2 minutes with dome over it. Check temp of sausage and flip back to sausage side down and cook till sausage is 160. Take off griddle and slice in small slices and serve with marinara on the side for dipping.
