Chopped cheese is an amazing sandwich and so is an Oklahoma onion burger, so in this video, we took both and merged them together to make on awesome sandwich! Hope you enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 lbs 80/20 ground chuck
1 onion thinly sliced
4 Martins hoagie rolls
1 tbsp Hussey's Heifer Dust
8 slices American cheese
yellow mustard
lettuce chopped
pickles
Directions:
1. Preheat griddle to medium to medium/high heat or around 450 degrees. Slice onion thin. Take ground chuck and form 1/4 pound balls.
2. Put ground chuck balls down on griddle and add sliced onion to the top of each ball. Season with Heifer Dust. Using your smasher, smash the meat flat and hold for about 10 seconds to give it a good char.
3. While meat is cooking, put Dukes Mayonnaise or butter on the rolls and put them cut side down to toast. At this point, the patties will be ready to flip. Once all are flipped add a slice of cheese to each burger. When rolls are toasted to your liking, remove to cutting board. Add more mayo and mustard if you like.
4. Take your spatula and chop up burgers, cheese and onions keeping two burgers together while chopping so you have two quarter pound burgers per bun. Arrange the chopped burgers in the shape of the bun and put the bun on top of the meat.
5. Take your spatula and get under the meat and flip the whole thing over leaving a beautiful sandwich. Add shredded lettuce and pickles if desired.
